About Swap Tool
The StatTrak™ Swap Tool is a CS2 inventory tool used to transfer StatTrak kills between compatible weapon skins rather than a finish applied to a weapon. Unlike standard skins, it has no weapon-specific design, serving a functional role tied to StatTrak tracking within the game’s item system.

Frequently Asked Questions
The StatTrak™ Swap Tool is a consumable CS2 item that transfers the StatTrak kill counter from one compatible StatTrak weapon skin to another of the same weapon type. For example, it can move a counter between two StatTrak AK-47 skins, but not from an AK-47 to an AWP. The tool is used up when the transfer is completed.
You use a StatTrak™ Swap Tool from your inventory and then select two compatible StatTrak skins for the same weapon. The counter value is moved from the source skin to the target skin, letting you keep your recorded kills on a different finish. Both items must be valid for the transfer before CS2 allows the swap.
The tool transfers only the StatTrak count, not stickers, name tags, or other cosmetic details attached to the skin. It is meant for players who want to keep a kill total while changing from one StatTrak finish to another on the same weapon, such as moving from StatTrak AK-47 Redline to StatTrak AK-47 Slate. Once used, the tool is consumed and cannot be reused.
StatTrak is worth it if you care about tracking confirmed kills on the weapon you actually use in matches. It can also matter for inventory preference, especially when you want to keep a high count on a specific gun like an AK-47, M4A1-S, or AWP. If you do not value the counter itself, paying extra for StatTrak items or for a swap tool may not add much practical benefit.
